a lil bit about me
Growing up, I was headstrong and passionate or as my mother would say ' like a bull at a gate'. I spent the majority of my childhood outside, building cubby houses in the scrub, riding horses down back roads, fishing in the creeks and sneaking sips of dads beer.
Now, at 26 I live with my partner and our two Border collies, Arlo & Summer in a little brick home we built together in 2018. I enjoy nothing more than sitting on our back patio, wine in hand, watching the sun set. In my spare time between working, meeting with clients for sessions, and editing, I enjoy going to the gym, traveling, weekends at the beach, camping, spending time with friends and family and eating ALLLLL the good food.
How it all started:
I was always drawn to photography, taking photos of anything and everything with whatever I could get my hands on- phone, digital camera, mum and dads old film camera -anything!
Eventually, I saved up enough money from my weekend job and had my parents pitched in for my 16th birthday to purchase my first DSLR. I enjoyed photographing the animals and daily life around the family home and farm, gradually moving on to photographing for family and friends. I was using any spare moments I had in school to teach myself the ins and outs of my camera by watching YouTube.
After a few years of casually picking up and putting photography down between work and life, I decided in the midst of the craziness that was 2020 to take it a little bit more serious and see where I could take this passion. I threw myself head first into it, taking on any and all opportunities that came my way- Absolutely anything to get experience and see if I could find my niche within the industry. Finding myself in my work is still an ever evolving work in progress but I thoroughly enjoy being apart of so many peoples journeys - and having the opportunity to gift them something that only gets more valuable as time passes - memories.
It's been a rollercoaster and I don't know what the future has in store or what twists and turns this creative outlet will take but for now, I'm just enjoying the ride and thriving on capturing and documenting all the little moments for my clients.
I am so so thankful to have the support of my partner and family , and I am beyond grateful for every single person who choses me to document some of their most precious memories.
Thanks a million
Caitlin xx
